How does the AI agent create tasks inside TickTick?

The agent uses TickTick's Open API to call the Create Task endpoint. It sends the task title, due date, priority level, reminders, and project ID directly from the conversation context. The task appears instantly in your TickTick project with all the details attached.

Can the agent assign tasks to specific TickTick projects based on the conversation topic?

Yes. You can configure routing rules so billing issues go to your Finance project, technical bugs go to Engineering, and feature requests go to Product. The agent retrieves your project list via the Get User Projects endpoint and assigns tasks accordingly.

What TickTick permissions does Tars require?

Tars requires OAuth scopes for tasks:read and tasks:write. This allows creating, reading, updating, and completing tasks and projects. You authorize through TickTick's standard OAuth flow and can revoke access anytime from your TickTick settings.

Does Tars store my TickTick task data?

No. Tars calls TickTick's API in real time during conversations. Task titles, project details, and due dates are fetched live and used only to respond to the current interaction. We do not maintain a separate copy of your TickTick data.

Can the agent set recurring tasks in TickTick from a conversation?

Yes. The Create Task endpoint supports RRULE strings for recurrence. If a customer requests a weekly check-in or a monthly report, the agent creates a recurring task using TickTick's repeatFlag parameter with the appropriate frequency.

What happens if a customer asks about a task the agent cannot find?

The agent searches by project and task ID. If no match is found, it asks the customer for more details like the project name or date, and offers to create a new task if the original cannot be located. No dead ends in the conversation.

How is this different from TickTick's built-in integrations with Slack or email?

TickTick's native integrations let you forward emails or messages into tasks. Tars goes further by understanding the conversation context, extracting the right details, setting priority and deadlines automatically, and routing tasks to the correct project. Yes. The agent uses the List All Tasks endpoint to aggregate open tasks across projects. It can filter by due date to surface overdue items, giving your team or your customer a clear view of what needs immediate attention.
