What Tally operations can the AI agent perform?

Can the agent build complex multi-page forms?

Yes. The create form endpoint accepts an array of blocks with types like FORM_TITLE, INPUT_TEXT, TEXTAREA, and page_break groupTypes. The agent constructs multi-page forms with various field types based on your description. Each block can include validation rules and default values.

How does webhook configuration work with Tally?

The agent creates webhooks by specifying the form ID, callback URL, event types (currently FORM_RESPONSE), and an optional signing secret for payload verification. When a form receives a new submission, Tally sends the response data to your webhook URL. The agent can also list webhook events to monitor delivery history.

What authentication does Tally require?

Tally uses API key authentication. You generate your key from the Tally account settings page and paste it into the Tars tool configuration. The key provides access to your forms, workspaces, and webhooks. No OAuth redirects or multi-step authorization flows are needed.

Does Tars store my Tally form responses?

No. The agent queries Tally's API in real time to retrieve form responses and submission data. Information is fetched live for each conversation and used only to generate the agent's current reply. Tars does not maintain a cache or database of your form data.

Can the agent handle forms with hundreds of submissions?

Yes. The responses and submissions endpoints support pagination with configurable page sizes. The agent can iterate through pages to analyze large datasets or provide summary statistics like total counts and response trends without loading every record at once.

How is this different from using Tally's dashboard?

Tally's dashboard requires manual form building with drag-and-drop and navigating to each form's response tab for data review. With Tars, your team creates forms by describing the fields they need and retrieves response summaries by asking a question. It is especially valuable for teams that need quick form deployment and data access without design time.

Can the agent update existing forms without breaking live submissions?

Yes. The update form endpoint allows you to modify blocks, settings, name, and status on an existing form. The agent applies changes while preserving the form ID and existing response data. Live forms can be updated mid-campaign without losing already-collected submissions.
