How does the AI agent look up invoice status in sevDesk?

The agent uses sevDesk's invoice listing API with filters for contact ID, invoice number, status, and date range. When a client asks about an invoice, the agent matches by their contact details and retrieves the relevant records with amounts, due dates, and payment status.

Can the agent create new contacts in sevDesk during a conversation?

Yes. When a new client provides their details, the agent can create a person or company contact in sevDesk with name, email, phone, address, and tax information. The contact type (PERSON or COMPANY) is set based on the information provided.

What sevDesk API permissions does the token need?

Your sevDesk API token provides full access to the account's data through the REST API. Generate the token from your sevDesk account under Settings > API. The token grants access to contacts, invoices, orders, transactions, and other financial records.

Does Tars store my sevDesk financial data or client records?

No. All sevDesk data is queried in real time during conversations. Invoice amounts, client details, and transaction records are fetched live and used only for the current response. Tars does not maintain a database of your accounting information.

Can the agent handle German tax-specific fields like Steuernummer and USt-IdNr?

Yes. sevDesk supports taxNumber (Steuernummer), vatNumber (USt-IdNr), and taxOffice fields on contacts. The agent can read and write these fields when creating or updating contact records, keeping your German tax compliance data accurate.

How is this different from sevDesk's mobile app for answering client questions?

The sevDesk app requires you to open it, navigate to the right record, and manually look up the information. The AI agent answers client billing questions automatically in their preferred channel. You do not need to be available or even awake for your clients to get invoice status updates.

Can the agent check bank account balances and recent transactions?

The agent can retrieve check account details and list transactions from sevDesk, filtered by date, amount, direction (incoming/outgoing), and status. This provides a quick cash flow overview. Actual bank balances depend on how recently your sevDesk banking connection synced.

What if a client asks about an invoice that was sent before the integration?
