How does the AI agent create company records in Salesmate?

The agent uses Salesmate's Create Company API endpoint to generate a new company record. It captures fields like name, website, billing address, phone, and custom tags during the conversation. An owner ID must be specified, which the agent can set to the default sales rep or route based on your assignment rules.

Can the agent add products with custom pricing to the Salesmate catalog?

Yes. The Add Product endpoint accepts name, SKU, unit price, cost per unit, direct cost, currency, description, and tags. The agent can create products with precise pricing details during a conversation, making them immediately available for deal and quote associations in Salesmate.

What credentials does Tars need to connect to Salesmate?

Tars requires three pieces of authentication: your Salesmate subdomain (used for the base URL), a session key, and an access key. Both keys are generated from your Salesmate account settings. They are stored securely in Tars and used for all API requests to your Salesmate instance.

Does Tars store copies of my Salesmate CRM data?

No. Company records, product details, user lists, and module information are queried from Salesmate in real time during each conversation. Tars does not maintain a separate database of your CRM data. All interactions happen live through the Salesmate API.

Can the agent tell me which team members are active in Salesmate?

Yes. The agent calls Salesmate's Get Active Users endpoint, which returns all users currently marked as active. This is useful for lead assignment, checking team capacity, or verifying who is available to take on new accounts during a conversation.

How does the agent handle looking up companies when I only have a company name?

The Get Company endpoint requires a company ID. If you only have a name, the agent can use Salesmate's module listing or search capabilities to find matching company records first, then retrieve the full details.
