How accurate is People Data Labs' person enrichment data?

People Data Labs maintains a dataset of over 1.5 billion unique person profiles sourced from public records, social profiles, and resume data. The agent uses PDL's min_likelihood parameter to control match confidence, scoring from 0 to 10. Higher thresholds return fewer but more accurate matches, so you can tune precision based on your needs.

What identifiers can the AI agent use to enrich a person?

The agent can enrich using email, phone number, LinkedIn URL, full name plus company or location, LinkedIn ID, or a PDL record ID. You need at least one primary identifier or a name combined with a secondary detail like company or school. The more data points provided, the higher the match accuracy.

Does Tars store the enriched profile data from People Data Labs?

No. Tars queries People Data Labs in real-time during conversations. Enriched data is used to personalize the current interaction or passed to your CRM. Tars itself does not maintain a separate database of PDL records. Your data usage is governed by your PDL API subscription terms.

Can the agent search for people by job title and location?

Yes. The agent constructs Elasticsearch DSL queries against PDL's Person Search API. You can filter by job_title_role, location_country, job_company_industry, skills, and dozens of other fields. The agent handles query building, pagination with scroll tokens, and result formatting automatically.

How does the Company Enrichment API work through the agent?

Provide a company name, website, LinkedIn profile, or stock ticker. The agent sends it to PDL's Company Enrichment endpoint and receives firmographic data including employee count, revenue range, industry, founding year, headquarters location, and social profiles. It covers over 70 million company records worldwide.

What is IP enrichment and when should I use it?

IP enrichment resolves a visitor's IP address to a company, location, and potentially specific person records. Use it when you want to identify anonymous website visitors or personalize landing pages based on the visitor's company. The agent can also return ISP metadata and geolocation data alongside the company match.

How are API credits consumed when the agent makes calls?

Each enrichment or search call consumes credits from your PDL plan. Person enrichment uses one credit per successful match, company enrichment uses one credit, and search queries use credits based on the number of results returned. The agent only calls the API when it has sufficient identifying information to produce a meaningful result.

Can the agent clean and standardize messy CRM data?

Yes. PDL offers Cleaner APIs for companies, locations, and schools. The agent can take a messy company name like 'Goog' or 'google llc' and return the canonical record for Google with their correct domain, industry, and location. This helps deduplicate and standardize your CRM before enrichment.
