Frequently Asked Questions

How does the AI agent enroll a new student in a MemberVault course?

The agent uses the Add User endpoint with the student's email and the target course_id. If the email already exists in MemberVault, the system grants access to the new course without creating a duplicate account. The agent collects the required details during conversation and processes enrollment in real-time.

What MemberVault credentials does Tars need to connect?

Tars requires your MemberVault subdomain (used to construct the API base URL) and your API key (for authenticating requests). Both are entered in the Tars dashboard when you add the tool. Your credentials are encrypted and stored securely.

Can the agent enroll a user without granting access to any specific course?

Yes. By setting the course_id parameter to -1, the agent creates a MemberVault user account without granting access to any product. This is useful for building your prospect list or creating accounts for future enrollment.

Does deleting a user through the agent remove all their MemberVault data?

Yes. The Delete User endpoint permanently removes the user and all associated data, including course progress, quiz answers, and engagement history. This action is irreversible. The agent always confirms with the requesting party before proceeding.

Does Tars store my MemberVault student information?

No. All operations happen through live API calls to your MemberVault account. Student emails, course enrollments, and progress data are accessed in real-time and used only during the active conversation. Tars does not maintain a copy of your student database.

How is this different from MemberVault's native engagement tracking?

MemberVault's built-in gamification and engagement scoring work inside the platform. Tars AI Agents work outside the platform, on your website, WhatsApp, or messaging channels, handling the conversations that lead to enrollments and resolving student questions before they reach your inbox. They complement each other.

Can the agent list specific types of products, like only courses or only memberships?

The Get Courses endpoint returns all products in your MemberVault account. The agent can filter and present specific product types conversationally based on what the visitor asks about. If they want courses only, the agent highlights courses. If they ask about memberships, those get surfaced.

What happens if a student tries to enroll in a course they already have access to?

MemberVault's Add User endpoint handles duplicates gracefully. If the email already exists and already has access to the specified course, no duplicate is created. The agent can detect this and let the student know they already have access, offering to help them log in instead.
