How does the AI agent create subscribers in MailerLite?

The agent uses MailerLite's Create/Update Subscriber API endpoint. It sends the visitor's email along with optional fields like name, company, city, and phone. If the subscriber already exists, MailerLite updates their record non-destructively, so existing group memberships and field data are preserved.

Can the agent assign subscribers to specific MailerLite groups automatically?

Yes. When creating or updating a subscriber, the agent includes group IDs in the request. You configure which groups map to which conversation topics in your agent settings. A visitor asking about enterprise plans can be placed in your 'Enterprise Leads' group without any manual sorting.

Does Tars store copies of my MailerLite subscriber data?

No. Tars makes real-time API calls to MailerLite during conversations. Subscriber emails, names, group memberships, and custom fields are fetched and written directly to your MailerLite account. We do not maintain a separate database of your subscriber information.

Can the agent check if someone is already subscribed before creating a duplicate?

MailerLite's subscriber endpoint is an upsert operation. If the email already exists, the API updates the record instead of creating a duplicate. The agent can also query the Get Subscribers API to check status, group membership, or custom field values before taking action.

How is this different from MailerLite's built-in pop-up forms?

Pop-ups interrupt the user experience and have declining conversion rates. A Tars AI Agent engages visitors in genuine conversation, answers their questions, and naturally collects email information.
