The agent uses Lever's Opportunities API to search by candidate email, name, or tags. When someone asks about an applicant, the agent queries Lever in real time, retrieves the opportunity record including pipeline stage, source attribution, and interview history, and responds with current details. No data is cached between conversations.

Can the agent create opportunities for walk-in candidates who chat on our website?

Yes. When a visitor expresses interest in a role, the agent collects their name, email, and relevant experience through conversation, then calls Lever's Create Opportunity endpoint. The new candidate appears in your pipeline with proper source attribution and any tags you configure, ready for recruiter review.

What Lever API permissions does Tars require?

Tars needs a Lever API key with read access to opportunities, postings, stages, and users. For write operations like creating opportunities or scheduling interviews, the key also needs write permissions on those resources. You generate the key in Lever's developer settings and can revoke it anytime.

Does Tars store candidate resumes or personal data from Lever?

No. Tars queries Lever in real time during conversations. Candidate names, emails, resume data, and interview details are fetched live and used only to respond to the active conversation. We do not maintain a separate copy of your Lever candidate database.

Can the agent tell a candidate which pipeline stage they are in?

Yes. The agent retrieves the candidate's opportunity and cross-references it with Lever's pipeline stages endpoint. It can report whether someone is in application review, phone screen, on-site interview, or offer stage. You control how much detail the agent shares with external candidates versus internal hiring managers.

How is this different from Lever's built-in chatbot or career site features?
