Use Cases

Smarter creator marketing in action

Real scenarios where AI streamlines Kit subscriber management, so creators spend less time in dashboards and more time creating content that connects.

WhatsApp Newsletter Signups Without Landing Pages

A follower messages your business on WhatsApp saying 'I want your weekly tips.' Your AI Agent collects their email, verifies it, and adds them to the right Kit form using the add-subscriber endpoint. The welcome sequence triggers automatically. The subscriber joins without ever visiting a landing page, and you gain a new reader without any manual data entry.

Post-Purchase VIP Tagging in Real Time

A customer buys your online course and chats with your AI agent for support. The agent recognizes the purchase context, calls Kit's tag-by-email endpoint to apply a 'course-buyer' tag, then confirms the customer will receive exclusive follow-up content. Your segmented email sequences activate immediately, and your customer feels recognized from the start.

On-Demand Broadcast Performance Reports

Before your weekly content planning session, you message the AI agent: 'What were the open rates for my last three broadcasts?' The agent fetches stats for each broadcast from Kit, compares open and click rates, and highlights which subject lines performed best. You walk into the planning session with data-driven decisions already made.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the AI agent add new subscribers to my Kit account?

The agent uses Kit's Add Subscriber to Form endpoint. When a visitor shares their email during a conversation, the agent submits it to your chosen Kit form by form ID. This triggers any automation sequences attached to that form, such as welcome emails or content drips, exactly as if the subscriber opted in through your website.

Can the agent apply multiple tags to a subscriber in one conversation?

Yes. The agent can call Kit's tag-subscriber endpoint multiple times within the same conversation. For example, it might tag someone as both 'webinar-attendee' and 'interested-in-premium' based on their answers during a qualification chat. Each tag applies independently and triggers any associated automations.

What subscriber data can the agent retrieve from Kit?

The agent can access subscriber email address, state (active, inactive, cancelled), creation and update dates, custom field values, and associated tags. It can also list subscribers by form or by tag, filter by status, and sort by various fields for detailed audience analysis.

Does the agent have access to my Kit broadcast content or just stats?

The agent can retrieve both broadcast details (subject line, preview text, status) and performance statistics (recipients, opens, clicks, unsubscribes). It can also list all broadcasts with pagination. However, it accesses broadcast metadata through the API, not the full email HTML body.

Can I use this to manage Kit sequences and automation rules?

The agent can list all sequences in your Kit account and view their details. Adding subscribers to forms triggers associated automations. However, creating or editing sequence content is done within Kit's dashboard. The agent handles subscriber routing, not content editing.

How is this different from Kit's built-in signup forms?

Kit forms require visitors to navigate to a landing page or find an embedded widget. With Tars, the signup happens inside a conversation on WhatsApp, your website chat, or SMS. The agent collects the email, validates it, adds the subscriber, and triggers the welcome sequence without the visitor leaving the channel they are already using.

What Kit API key permissions does the agent need?

Kit uses a single API key (found in your Kit account settings under Developer) that grants access to subscribers, tags, forms, broadcasts, segments, and custom fields. There are no granular permission scopes for the Kit API. Keep your key secure and share it only through the Tars dashboard's encrypted credentials form.

Can the agent track which form or channel a subscriber came from?

Yes. Each Kit form has a unique ID, and the agent logs which form it used when adding a subscriber. Kit also supports a referrer URL parameter in the add-subscriber-to-form endpoint, so the agent can pass the originating channel (like WhatsApp or a specific web page) as metadata attached to the subscriber record.
