How does the AI agent retrieve event details from Humanitix?

The agent uses Humanitix's Get Event API with the specific event ID. When an attendee asks about a particular event, the agent fetches the full metadata including dates, venue, ticket types, and descriptions. Data is queried live and never cached separately.

Can the agent show only future events to avoid confusing attendees?

Yes. The Humanitix API supports an inFutureOnly parameter. When enabled, the agent filters out past events automatically, so attendees only see upcoming happenings. You can also configure the agent to include past events when specifically asked.

What Humanitix credentials does Tars need to connect?

Tars requires your Humanitix API key, which you can generate from your Humanitix account settings. This key grants read access to your events and tags. No admin password is shared, and you can revoke the key anytime from your Humanitix dashboard.

Does Tars store my Humanitix event data?

No. Tars queries your Humanitix account in real time during each conversation. Event details, attendee counts, and tag information are fetched live and used only to respond to the current inquiry. No separate copy of your data is maintained.

Can the agent handle organizations with hundreds of events?

Absolutely. The Humanitix API supports pagination with page number and page size parameters. The agent navigates multiple pages behind the scenes and presents only the most relevant results to the person asking, regardless of how large your event catalog is.

How is this different from the Humanitix website's event listing?

Your Humanitix event page requires visitors to browse and search manually. A Tars AI Agent actively converses with attendees, understands their questions in natural language, and delivers precise answers across WhatsApp, SMS, and your website without any page navigation.

Can the agent filter events by region using the overrideLocation parameter?

Yes. The Humanitix API accepts an ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code to override the user's location context. If your organization runs events across multiple countries, the agent can tailor results to the specific region the attendee is asking about.

What happens if someone asks about an event that has been removed?

If the event ID no longer exists in Humanitix, the agent receives an error response and handles it gracefully. It informs the attendee that the event could not be found, suggests checking for typos, and offers to show upcoming events or connect them with a human organizer.
