The agent calls HeyGen's v2 video generate endpoint with your chosen avatar, script text, and voice settings. HeyGen renders the video asynchronously, and the agent polls the status endpoint until the video is ready, then delivers the shareable URL to the customer. The entire flow happens within the chat.

Can the agent translate existing videos into other languages automatically?

Yes. The agent uses HeyGen's video translate API, specifying the source video ID and target language. HeyGen produces a lip-synced translated version. The agent checks translation status and delivers the new video link once rendering completes. Over 175 languages and dialects are supported.

What HeyGen API key permissions does Tars need?

Tars requires a standard HeyGen API key, which you generate in your HeyGen account settings. This key grants access to video generation, avatar listing, translation, and streaming endpoints. You can regenerate or revoke the key at any time from HeyGen's dashboard without affecting other integrations.

Does Tars store my HeyGen video files or avatar data?

No. Tars calls the HeyGen API in real time and passes video URLs directly to the customer. Your avatar configurations, rendered videos, and brand assets remain stored exclusively on HeyGen's servers. Tars does not cache or duplicate any of your media content.

Can the agent handle interactive streaming avatar sessions?

Yes. The agent can start a HeyGen streaming session, generate the required authentication token, send task instructions to the live avatar, and keep the session alive with periodic pings. When the conversation ends, the agent gracefully stops the stream.

How is this different from using HeyGen's dashboard directly?

Using the dashboard requires manual steps for each video. With Tars, your AI agent automates the entire pipeline: script selection, avatar assignment, rendering, status tracking, and delivery. Videos get produced inside customer conversations at scale, without anyone logging into HeyGen.
