How does the AI agent create leads in HelloLeads from a conversation?

The agent uses HelloLeads' Create Lead API, passing the first name, email or mobile number, and list key as required fields. Optional fields like company, deal size, tags, interests, and notes are populated from details gathered during the chat. The lead appears in your HelloLeads list immediately after creation.

Can the agent assign leads to different lists based on the conversation topic?

Yes. The agent first calls the List Lists endpoint to retrieve all available pipeline list keys. Based on the conversation context, such as product interest or geographic location, it selects the appropriate list key and routes the new lead there. Your sales team sees leads organized by category from the start.

What contact information can the AI agent capture and store in HelloLeads?

The agent can populate all HelloLeads lead fields including first name, last name, email, mobile, phone, company, designation, address, city, state, country, postal code, website, deal size, potential rating, tags, interests, categories, and free-form notes. Each field has character limits enforced by the API.

Does Tars store copies of my HelloLeads contact data?

No. Tars sends lead data to HelloLeads through the API in real time and retrieves lead lists live during conversations. Contact information is not cached or stored in Tars systems between sessions. Your lead data lives exclusively in your HelloLeads account.

Can the agent update leads that already exist in HelloLeads?

The current HelloLeads API integration supports creating new leads and listing existing ones. If a returning visitor provides updated information, the agent can check the existing lead list to avoid duplicates and flag the update for your sales team to review manually in the HelloLeads dashboard.

How do I set up the HelloLeads API key for my Tars AI Agent?

In your Tars dashboard, navigate to Tools and select HelloLeads. Enter your HelloLeads API key, which you can generate from your HelloLeads account settings under API integrations. Once connected, attach the tool to your AI Agent Gambit. The agent will push leads to HelloLeads whenever prospects share their information.

How is this different from using HelloLeads' web forms for lead capture?

Web forms require visitors to fill out fields and submit. With Tars, leads are captured through natural conversation. The AI agent asks questions contextually, collects data without feeling like a form, and enriches the lead with qualifying details like deal size and potential.
