How does the AI agent handle large audio files submitted by customers?

The agent sends the publicly accessible media URL to Happy Scribe's Create Transcription API. Happy Scribe supports files up to several hours long in formats like MP3, WAV, MP4, and MOV. The agent monitors the transcription status and notifies the customer once processing completes, typically within a few minutes for automatic transcription.

Which languages does Happy Scribe support for AI-powered transcription?

Happy Scribe supports over 120 languages and accents. Your AI agent can query the Get Language List endpoint to check all currently supported language codes before initiating a transcription. This ensures the correct language setting is applied to each job for optimal accuracy.

Can the agent generate both SRT subtitles and Word documents from the same transcription?

Yes. The agent can trigger multiple exports from a single completed transcription. Use the Export Transcription endpoint to create SRT for subtitles and DOCX for documents, each with optional settings for timestamps, speaker labels, and highlights. Both exports can happen simultaneously.

What happens if a transcription job fails mid-processing?

The agent checks job status through the Get Transcription endpoint. If a job fails, it receives an error state with details about the failure reason, commonly an inaccessible media URL or unsupported format. The agent then communicates the specific issue and suggests the customer re-upload a valid file.

Does Tars store copies of my audio files or transcription data?

No. Tars passes the media URL to Happy Scribe's API and retrieves the transcription results in real time. Audio files remain on your storage. Transcription output is fetched live from Happy Scribe during each conversation and is not cached or duplicated in Tars systems.

How do I authenticate Happy Scribe with my Tars AI Agent?

In your Tars dashboard, navigate to Tools and select Happy Scribe. Enter your Happy Scribe API key, which you can generate from your Happy Scribe account settings. Once connected, attach the tool to your AI Agent Gambit, and the agent will call Happy Scribe when transcription requests come in.

Can the AI agent handle translation orders with multiple target languages at once?

Yes. The Create Translation Order endpoint accepts multiple target languages in a single request. Your agent can submit one order specifying French, Spanish, and German simultaneously. Happy Scribe processes all translations from the source transcription, and the agent tracks each output independently.
