The agent calls Gumroad's Get Sales API filtered by the customer's email address. Gumroad returns all matching transactions including product name, purchase date, amount paid, and refund status. The agent presents the relevant details conversationally without exposing raw data.

Can the agent verify purchases for 'pay what you want' products?

Yes. The sales API returns the exact amount paid regardless of pricing model. For pay-what-you-want products, the agent can confirm the purchase happened and show the amount the customer chose to pay. It works identically to fixed-price product lookups.

What Gumroad permissions does Tars need?

Tars connects via OAuth with view_profile and view_sales scopes. This grants read access to your seller profile and sales data. Tars cannot modify your products, issue refunds, or access your Gumroad payout information. You can revoke access anytime from your Gumroad settings.

Does Tars store my Gumroad customer or sales data?

No. Tars queries Gumroad in real time during each conversation. Customer emails, transaction details, and product information are fetched live and used only to respond to the current inquiry. No sales data is persisted in Tars after the conversation ends.

Can the agent handle subscription and membership product inquiries?

Yes. Gumroad's sales data includes subscription and membership purchases. The agent can look up recurring purchases, confirm active subscription status, and provide renewal details. For cancellation requests, the agent directs the customer to the appropriate Gumroad management link.

How is this different from Gumroad's built-in email support?

Gumroad sends automated emails for purchases and receipts, but cannot answer follow-up questions. Tars provides an interactive AI agent that understands context, looks up specific transactions, and handles multi-turn conversations about purchases, refunds, and product details in real time.

Can the agent manage webhooks for different Gumroad event types?

Yes. Gumroad supports eight resource event types including sales, refunds, disputes, and subscription updates. The agent can subscribe to any of these, list active subscriptions, and unsubscribe from specific events, all through conversational commands.

What happens if a customer asks about a purchase that was refunded?

The agent retrieves the full sale record from Gumroad, which includes refund status. If the purchase was refunded, the agent informs the customer of the refund date and amount. If they believe this is an error, the agent can escalate to the creator for manual review.
