What data points does FraudLabs Pro analyze when screening an order?

The Screen Order API validates over 20 data points including IP geolocation, anonymous proxy detection, email domain age, billing and shipping address mismatch, credit card BIN lookup, AVS and CVV results, transaction velocity, and blacklist checks. You pass as many parameters as available, and FraudLabs Pro scores the overall risk.

Can the AI agent screen orders without customers knowing?

Yes. Fraud screening happens server-side through the API. The customer experiences a normal checkout. The agent screens the transaction in the background and only intervenes if verification is needed, like requesting an SMS OTP for a flagged order. Low-risk orders proceed without any visible friction.

How does the SMS OTP verification work through the conversation?

The agent calls FraudLabs Pro's Send SMS Verification API with the customer's phone number and a message template containing the OTP placeholder. The customer receives the code via SMS, provides it in the chat, and the agent validates it against the Get SMS Verification Result API. The entire flow stays within the conversation.

Does Tars store transaction or card data from FraudLabs Pro screening?

No. Tars passes transaction parameters to FraudLabs Pro's API and receives the risk score in real-time. We do not store IP addresses, card BIN numbers, email addresses, or any other screening data. All sensitive data stays within the FraudLabs Pro ecosystem.

How does order feedback improve fraud detection accuracy?

When you approve or reject a screened order, the agent submits feedback via the Feedback Order API with APPROVE, REJECT, or REJECT_BLACKLIST actions. FraudLabs Pro's machine learning engine uses this data to refine scoring for similar future transactions. The more feedback you provide, the fewer false positives you get.

How is FraudLabs Pro different from Stripe Radar or PayPal fraud filters?

Stripe Radar and PayPal filters only work within their own payment ecosystems. FraudLabs Pro is payment-gateway agnostic and works with any checkout system. It also offers SMS phone verification, detailed IP geolocation analysis, and custom fraud rules you control. Tars adds conversational verification on top.

What happens when FraudLabs Pro's API is temporarily unavailable?

The agent handles API downtime gracefully. If the screening call fails, it can be configured to either hold the order for manual review or allow it to proceed based on your risk tolerance settings. The agent logs the event and retries when the API recovers.

Is FraudLabs Pro free for small businesses?

FraudLabs Pro offers a free Micro plan that includes up to 500 fraud screenings per month. This is sufficient for small merchants just starting out. Tars works with any FraudLabs Pro plan, and the agent configuration remains the same regardless of your subscription tier.
