How does the AI agent retrieve a specific entry from my Formdesk form?

The agent uses Formdesk's Get Entry Details endpoint with the form ID and entry ID. It retrieves all field values the submitter provided. If the entry ID is unknown, the agent first queries Get Form Entries to list all submissions and searches by matching criteria like email or name.

Can the agent submit new entries to any of my Formdesk forms?

Yes. The agent uses the Create Entry API, passing the form ID and a field-value mapping that matches your form's schema. It can submit entries to contact forms, registration forms, order forms, or any custom form. Fields must match the exact identifiers defined in your Formdesk form builder.

What credentials does Tars need to connect with Formdesk?

Tars requires your Formdesk subdomain and API key. The subdomain is the prefix in your Formdesk URL (for example, 'fd7' from fd7.formdesk.com). The API key is provided in your Formdesk account settings and is used as a Bearer token for all requests.

Does Tars store data from my Formdesk entries?

No. Tars queries Formdesk in real-time during conversations. Entry data, visitor information, and field values are fetched live and used only for the current interaction. We do not create or maintain a separate copy of your Formdesk data.

Can the agent use the KVK Handelsregister lookup for Dutch business forms?

Yes. Formdesk integrates with the Dutch KVK Handelsregister, and the agent can query it by company name, KVK number, postal code, or street address. The returned company details can then pre-populate address fields in your forms, streamlining the process for Dutch businesses.

How is this different from Formdesk's standard email notifications?

Formdesk email notifications tell you about new entries but cannot answer customer questions. Tars enables customers to ask about their entries, get confirmations, and even submit new data through conversation. The agent also routes entry data to webhooks and other systems in real time.

Can the agent manage multi-page forms in Formdesk?

Yes. The agent can create multi-page Formdesk forms using the Multiple Pages Form API, defining page structures and field layouts programmatically. This is useful when you need to generate complex forms dynamically based on conversation context.

What happens if a form entry submission fails due to missing required fields?

The Formdesk API returns a validation error specifying which fields are missing or incorrect. The agent detects this, prompts the customer for the missing information, and resubmits. The customer experiences a smooth conversation, not a dead-end error page.
