How does the AI agent create invoices in Finmei?

The agent calls Finmei's Create Invoice API with the details you provide: customer ID or inline buyer info, line items with quantities and prices, currency code, issue date, due date, and optional notes. The invoice is created in your Finmei account instantly. You can reference existing customers by ID or supply new client details inline.

Can the agent look up whether a specific client has paid?

Yes. The agent queries the List Payments endpoint and can filter by status (such as 'completed'), date range, or both. It then matches results to the client in question and confirms the payment amount, date, and status. For granular detail, it can also retrieve a single payment by its unique ID.

What authentication does Tars need for my Finmei account?

Tars requires your Finmei API token, which you can generate from your Finmei account settings. This token grants access to invoices, customers, payments, and products. It does not expose your Finmei login credentials. You can revoke or regenerate the token at any time to control access.

Does Tars store my Finmei invoice or customer data?

No. All data is fetched in real time from the Finmei API during each conversation. Invoice details, customer records, payment histories, and product information are used only to generate the current response and are not cached or stored separately by Tars.

Can the agent invoice in currencies other than USD?

Absolutely. Finmei supports over 180 currencies. When creating an invoice, the agent passes the ISO 4217 currency code you specify, whether EUR, GBP, JPY, or any other supported code. It can also call the List Currencies endpoint to verify a specific currency is available before generating the invoice.

How is using Tars with Finmei different from the Finmei web dashboard?

The Finmei dashboard requires you to log in, navigate menus, and fill out forms. With Tars, you describe what you need in plain language and the agent handles the API calls. Can the agent update product prices and descriptions in my Finmei catalog?

Yes. The Update Product endpoint lets the agent modify a product's name, description, price, and currency by its product ID. If your pricing changes, just tell the agent the new values and it writes them back to Finmei immediately. No manual catalog edits needed.

What if a client asks about an invoice and the agent cannot find it?

The agent searches your Finmei invoice list with pagination. If no match is found for the provided reference or email, it lets the client know and asks them to double-check the invoice number or contact email. It can also offer to connect the client to a human agent so nothing falls through the cracks.
