What exactly can the AI agent do with EchtPost today?

The agent retrieves your complete list of EchtPost postcard templates, including their IDs, names, descriptions, preview URLs, types, and creation timestamps. This is the foundation for selecting templates during conversations and feeding them into downstream mailing workflows via automation platforms.

How does the agent know which postcard template to recommend?

The agent reads the template name, description, and type from EchtPost. You can configure conversation logic so that when a customer mentions a birthday, the agent suggests your birthday card template. For a purchase confirmation, it recommends your thank-you design. Matching rules live in your agent configuration.

Can the agent actually send postcards, or just browse templates?

Currently, the Tars integration retrieves template listings from EchtPost. To trigger actual postcard sending, you can combine this with automation platforms like Pipedream or PostGrid that connect to EchtPost's full API. The agent selects the template; the automation sends the card.

What authentication does EchtPost require?

EchtPost uses a Bearer authorization token. In your Tars dashboard, you enter this token along with the API base URL (typically https://api.echtpost.de/v1). Once configured, the agent authenticates every request automatically. You can rotate your token at any time from your EchtPost account.

Does Tars store my EchtPost template designs or customer mailing addresses?

No. Tars fetches template data from EchtPost in real time during conversations. Template previews, names, and IDs are used within the chat session only. Customer addresses entered for mailing are passed through to your fulfillment workflow and not stored in the Tars platform.

How is using Tars with EchtPost different from just logging into the EchtPost dashboard?

The EchtPost dashboard requires someone to manually pick templates and enter addresses. Tars embeds that selection into a live customer conversation. Your AI agent recommends the right template contextually, captures the address during chat, and queues the mailing without any human switching between tools.

Can I use EchtPost templates for different languages or regions?

If your EchtPost account contains templates in multiple languages, the agent will list all of them with their descriptions. You can configure routing logic so German-speaking customers see templates in German and English-speaking customers see English designs, based on detected conversation language.

What happens if my EchtPost account has no templates configured yet?

The agent will return an empty template list and can be configured to notify you or fall back to a different action. Before going live, ensure you have at least one active template in EchtPost so the agent has designs to offer during conversations.
