Yes. The agent calls Dovetail's Create Insight endpoint with a title, body text, optional project ID, and tags. When a customer shares a significant finding during a chat, the agent can capture it as a formal insight in Dovetail immediately, ensuring no research discovery gets lost.

What is a Dovetail 'channel' and how does the agent use it?

Channels in Dovetail are containers for incoming data points, similar to how a Slack channel collects messages. The agent can create new channels for specific feedback sources, like 'Website Chat Feedback', and then log individual data points into that channel as customers provide feedback during conversations.

Does Tars store copies of my Dovetail research data or interview transcripts?

No. Tars queries Dovetail's API in real time. Research notes, insights, highlights, and feedback data are fetched live during conversations and used only to respond to the current request. Your research repository remains entirely within Dovetail's platform.

Can the agent access research from all projects or just specific ones?

The agent's access is determined by the API token scope. Personal API tokens in Dovetail provide access to all data available to that user account. If you need to restrict access to specific projects, use a token from an account with the appropriate permissions.
