Use Cases

Newsletter workflows simplified by AI

See how newsletter creators use AI agents to collect content, draft editions, and monitor their audience, turning hours of manual curation into quick conversations.

Building a Weekly Issue From Slack Messages

Your team shares interesting articles throughout the week. Instead of copying URLs into Curated manually, you paste them into a chat with your AI Agent. The agent creates collected links with titles, descriptions, and categories using the Curated Create Link API. By Friday, your draft is pre-populated with organized content. You review, tweak, and hit send in minutes instead of hours.

Subscriber Growth Checks Without Dashboard Logins

A stakeholder asks how the newsletter audience is growing. Your AI Agent queries the Curated List Email Subscribers endpoint, retrieves the current count with pagination details, and reports the number directly in the conversation. You share the update in your team meeting without opening a single analytics tab. Quick, accurate, no context switching.

Referencing Past Issues for Sponsor Pitches

A potential sponsor wants to see your last five newsletter editions. Your AI Agent calls the Curated List Issues API, retrieves titles and issue numbers for your publication, and presents them with links to the web archive. The sponsor gets a professional overview of your content. You close the deal faster because the information was at your fingertips instantly.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly can the AI agent do with my Curated newsletter?

The agent can create draft issues with titles and editor notes, add collected links with URLs, descriptions, categories, and images, list all your publication categories, retrieve your email subscriber list, browse past issues, and list all publications under your API key. It covers the core Curated workflow from content collection to issue preparation.

Can the agent actually send a newsletter, or does it only create drafts?

The agent creates draft issues in Curated. Sending is a deliberate action you take inside the Curated platform after reviewing the draft. This keeps you in control of what goes out to subscribers while automating the time-consuming content assembly process.

How does the agent add links to my Curated publication?

When you share a URL with the agent, it calls the Curated Create Link endpoint with the URL, an optional title, description, image, and category. The link appears in your Curated collected links, ready to be included in your next issue. You can specify all details or let the agent use defaults.

Does Tars store my subscriber email addresses?

No. When the agent retrieves your subscriber list, it queries the Curated API in real time and uses the data only within the current conversation to answer your question. Tars does not maintain a separate database of your Curated subscriber information. The data stays in Curated.

I manage three different newsletters on Curated. Can the agent handle all of them?

Yes. The agent first calls the List Publications endpoint to identify all newsletters under your API key. You then specify which publication you want to work with by name or ID, and all subsequent actions target that publication. Switching between newsletters is as simple as telling the agent which one to focus on.

What Curated API key permissions does Tars require?

Tars needs a standard Curated API key, which you generate from your Curated account settings. The key grants access to the endpoints your plan supports, including publications, issues, links, categories, and subscribers. You can regenerate or revoke the key anytime from Curated.

How is using Tars different from the Curated Chrome extension for collecting links?

The Chrome extension captures one link at a time as you browse. Tars lets you batch-add multiple links in a conversation, assign categories and descriptions through dialogue, and simultaneously check past issues or subscriber counts. It consolidates your entire newsletter workflow into one interface instead of switching between browser, extension, and dashboard.

Can the agent help me find which issue a specific link was featured in?

The agent can list all issues for your publication and retrieve their details. While the Curated API does not provide a direct link-to-issue search, the agent can iterate through recent issues to help you locate when a particular article was shared. For publications with many issues, narrowing by date range speeds up the search.
