What data can the AI agent retrieve from Cults through the GraphQL API?

The agent can query creations (names, URLs, tags, descriptions, illustrations), creator profiles (nicknames, portfolios), printlists, and model metadata. It accesses everything available through the Cults GraphQL endpoint, including filtered searches by tags, pricing, and popularity. Actual 3D files remain hosted on Cults and are not downloaded by the agent.

Does the agent download or store 3D model files from Cults?

No. The Cults API provides metadata, previews, and links but does not expose raw 3D files to third parties. Your agent retrieves photos, titles, descriptions, and URLs, then directs customers to the Cults platform for the actual download. No STL or OBJ files are stored on Tars servers.

How does the Share on Create feature work through the agent?

The agent generates a prefilled share link using the Cults Share on Create endpoint. You provide the 3D file URL and your approved domain origin, and the agent returns a one-click link that lets visitors share or access the model directly on Cults. Your domain must be pre-approved by Cults for this to function.

What authentication does Tars need to connect to my Cults account?

Tars uses HTTP Basic Auth with your Cults username and API key. You generate the API key from your Cults account settings at cults3d.com/en/api/keys. The credentials are base64-encoded automatically. You can revoke or regenerate the key anytime from your Cults dashboard.

Can the agent search for models by specific 3D printing parameters like file format or use type?

Yes. The GraphQL API supports filtering by tags, use type (3D printing vs. CNC/laser), and other metadata fields. Your agent can craft queries that narrow results to STL files for FDM printers, DXF files for laser cutters, or any combination of criteria that Cults exposes through its schema.

How is this different from just embedding the Cults search bar on my site?

The Cults search bar redirects users away from your site. Tars keeps the conversation on your platform. Your agent understands context, asks follow-up questions about printing needs, suggests alternatives when models are unavailable, and handles multiple queries in one session. Customers stay engaged instead of bouncing to a separate marketplace tab.

Can the agent handle queries about models from multiple Cults creators?

Absolutely. The GraphQL API is not limited to a single creator. Your agent can search the entire Cults marketplace, compare models from different designers, and present options side by side. It can also look up specific creators by nickname if a customer has a preference.

What happens if a customer asks about a model that has been removed from Cults?

The agent handles this gracefully. If a GraphQL query returns no results for a specific creation, the agent informs the customer that the model is no longer available and offers to search for similar designs using related tags. No broken links or confusing error messages.
