Credential automation, built into conversation

Your AI agent creates, issues, and tracks digital certificates through Certifier's API. From one-off awards to bulk event credentials, every step happens without opening the Certifier dashboard.

Issue and Send Credentials

A learner completes a training module and the agent is triggered. It calls Certifier's Create, Issue, and Send endpoint with the recipient's name, email, group ID, and custom attributes like course name and grade, delivering the certificate to their inbox immediately.

Browse Certificate Designs

An admin asks which certificate templates are available for an upcoming program. The agent retrieves all designs from Certifier, presenting certificate and badge options with their names so the team can pick the right template.

Track Credential Engagement

Program manager wants to know if recipients are viewing their certificates. The agent pulls interaction data from Certifier for a specific credential, showing view counts, share events, and verification checks.

List Credential Groups

Training coordinator needs to see all active credential programs. The agent retrieves Certifier groups with pagination, providing an organized overview of every certification program, event badge set, or course credential category.

Resend Published Certificates

A recipient says they cannot find their certificate email. The agent locates the published credential in Certifier and triggers a redelivery via email, resolving the issue in the same conversation without admin involvement.

Audit Issued Credentials

Compliance team needs a count of all certificates issued this quarter. The agent retrieves the full credential inventory from Certifier with status information, helping teams maintain accurate records for audits and reporting.

Use Cases

Credentials delivered at the speed of learning

Training providers, event organizers, and HR teams use AI agents to automate the entire credentialing lifecycle, from issuance to engagement tracking.

Instant Certificates After Course Completion

A participant finishes your online compliance training and messages your chatbot asking for their certificate. Your AI Agent verifies their completion status, calls Certifier to create and issue a credential with the course name, completion date, and score as custom attributes, and delivers it to the learner's email within seconds. The participant shares their achievement on LinkedIn that same day, and your training team processes zero manual certificate requests.

Conference Badge Distribution at Scale

Your annual conference ends and 500 attendees need participation badges. Instead of manually uploading a CSV, your AI Agent processes each attendee through Certifier's issuance endpoint with event name, date, and session tracks as custom attributes. Badges arrive in attendee inboxes within minutes of the event closing. Your events team reclaims hours previously spent on post-conference certificate administration.

Missing Certificate Recovery in Seconds

An alumni from last year's training program messages saying they deleted their certificate email and need it for a job application. Your AI Agent searches Certifier for their credential, confirms it is in published status, and resends it via email. The recipient gets their proof of achievement in under a minute. No support ticket filed, no admin lookup required.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the AI agent issue a certificate through Certifier?

The agent calls Certifier's Create, Issue, and Send Credential endpoint in a single request. It provides the group ID (which determines the design template), the recipient's name and email, optional custom attributes like course name or grade, and optional issue and expiry dates. The certificate is generated, published, and emailed to the recipient automatically.

Can I include dynamic fields like course names, scores, or instructor names on certificates?

Yes. The customAttributes parameter accepts key-value pairs that map to dynamic text fields in your Certifier design template. Common attributes include course title, completion date, score, instructor name, and any other variable text. Your Certifier template must have matching attribute tags configured.

What authentication does Tars need for Certifier?

Tars requires a Certifier access token, which you generate in your Certifier dashboard under Settings > Developers > Access Tokens. The token authenticates all API requests. You control the token's permissions and can revoke it at any time from the Certifier dashboard.

Does Tars store recipient information or certificate data?

No. Tars passes recipient details to Certifier at the moment of issuance and does not maintain a separate database of certificates or recipient information. All credential data, designs, and interaction history remain in your Certifier account.

Can the agent set expiration dates on certifications for compliance purposes?

Yes. The agent can include an expiryDate in ISO 8601 format when issuing a credential. This is ideal for annual compliance certifications, professional development credits, or any credential that needs periodic renewal. Certifier handles the expiration status display automatically.

How is this different from using Certifier's bulk CSV upload?

CSV upload requires manual file preparation and dashboard access. The Tars integration issues certificates in real time as events happen, whether a learner completes a course, an attendee checks in, or a user passes an assessment. No file creation, no batch processing delays.

Can the agent tell me how many people have viewed or shared a specific certificate?

Yes. The agent calls the List Credential Interactions endpoint with a credential ID to retrieve engagement events. This shows how many times the credential was viewed, shared on social platforms, or verified. Program managers can use this data to measure certificate program reach and impact.

What happens if a recipient asks for their certificate but it was never issued?

The agent first searches Certifier's credential list for the recipient. If no credential is found, the agent can either issue a new one on the spot (if the person meets eligibility criteria) or inform the recipient and escalate to your team. No dead ends in the conversation.
