What audio and video formats does CastingWords accept through the AI agent?

CastingWords transcribes from nearly any DRM-free audio or video format, including MP3, WAV, MP4, and streaming URLs from popular platforms. Your AI agent sends the file URL directly to the CastingWords API. The service handles format conversion internally, so you do not need to pre-process files.

How does the AI agent choose between budget, standard, and express transcription?

You configure default preferences or let the agent ask the customer. Budget transcription uses the TRANS14 SKU for lower-priority work. Standard (TRANS6) delivers within a week. Express (TRANS2) targets next-day turnaround. The agent presents these options conversationally and submits the order with the selected SKU.

Can I add timestamps or captions after the initial transcription is done?

Yes. CastingWords supports post-completion upgrades. Your AI agent calls the upgrade endpoint with add-on SKUs like TSTMP1 for timestamps or CAPTION1 for SRT captions. The upgrade applies to the existing audio file without re-ordering the base transcription.

How accurate are CastingWords transcripts compared to AI-only services?

CastingWords uses human transcribers and editors, delivering 99% accuracy on clear audio. Unlike machine-only transcription, humans handle accents, overlapping speakers, and domain-specific terminology more reliably. For difficult audio, you can add the DIFFQ2 surcharge for extra editorial attention.

Does Tars store copies of my audio files or transcripts?

No. Your AI agent sends audio URLs directly to CastingWords and retrieves completed transcripts from their servers. Tars does not cache audio files or transcript text. All content resides on CastingWords' infrastructure and your own systems via webhook delivery.

What happens if the AI agent submits an order but the audio has issues?

CastingWords flags files with processing errors or difficult audio. Your AI agent receives these status updates via webhooks and can notify your team, cancel the order for a refund if it is still in pre-processing, or recommend the difficult audio add-on for challenging recordings.

Can I cancel a transcription order through the AI agent?

Yes, provided transcription work has not started. If the order is still in pre-processing or audio processing status, the agent calls the cancel endpoint and a refund is issued. Once human transcription begins, cancellation is no longer available. The agent checks order status before attempting cancellation.

How does the webhook notification work for completed transcripts?

Your AI agent registers a webhook URL with CastingWords. When a transcript finishes, CastingWords sends an HTTP POST to that URL with the event details. You can also configure notifications for refunds and difficult audio flags. The agent can test the webhook to verify connectivity before going live.
