Can the AI agent create a Canva design with specific pixel dimensions?

Yes. The agent calls Create Design with a custom design_type specifying width and height in pixels (40 to 8000). You can also use presets like 'presentation,' 'doc,' or 'whiteboard.' The response includes a design ID and edit URL so your team can start working immediately.

How does the agent upload brand images to my Canva content library?

The agent uses Canva's URL Asset Upload endpoint. Provide a public HTTPS URL of the image, a display name, and optional tags. The upload runs asynchronously, and the agent polls until it completes. The image then appears in your Canva content library for use in any design.

What export formats does the agent support?

PNG, JPG, PDF, GIF, PPTX, and MP4. Each format has specific options. JPG requires a quality parameter (1-100). PDF supports paper sizes like A4 and Letter. MP4 supports resolutions from 480p to 4K. The agent configures these based on your instructions and returns download links after processing.

Does Tars store my Canva designs or assets?

No. Tars interacts with Canva's Connect APIs in real time. Design metadata, asset files, and export downloads stay in Canva. The agent only passes through instructions and returns results. No design files are cached or stored on Tars infrastructure.

What Canva plan do I need for the Tars integration?

The Connect APIs work with Canva Free, Pro, and Enterprise accounts. However, some features require specific plans. Design resizing needs Pro or Enterprise. Brand template autofill requires Enterprise. The agent checks user capabilities through the API and informs you if a feature is not available on your plan.

Can the agent import a PowerPoint or PDF into Canva as an editable design?

Yes. The Design Import endpoint accepts PowerPoint, PDF, Word, Excel, Photoshop, and Illustrator files up to 100MB. The agent initiates the async import job and polls until it completes. Some features like animations in PowerPoint or formulas in Excel will not carry over, but layouts and text convert well.

How is this different from just using Canva's editor directly?

The Canva editor is for designing. The Tars integration handles the operational work around designing, creating canvases in the right size, uploading assets in bulk, exporting to multiple formats, and organizing folders.
