How does the AI agent create properly structured BugHerd tasks from casual client feedback?

The agent parses the customer's natural language description, extracts key details like the affected page, device, and severity, then calls BugHerd's Create Task API with structured fields. It sets the description, priority, tags, and assignment based on your configured rules. Clients describe issues conversationally, developers receive clean tickets.

Can the agent assign tasks to specific team members based on the type of bug?

Yes. Configure routing rules in your agent so that UI bugs go to your front-end developer, performance issues go to your backend team, and content errors go to your copywriter. The agent passes the correct assigned_to_email or assigned_to_id when creating the BugHerd task.

What BugHerd permissions does the Tars integration need?

Tars requires your BugHerd API token, generated under Settings > General Settings in your BugHerd account. This token provides access to create and update tasks, manage projects, add comments, and handle attachments. You can revoke or regenerate the token at any time from BugHerd settings.

Does Tars store copies of my BugHerd project data or client feedback?

No. Tars calls BugHerd's API in real time during conversations. Task details, project lists, and comments are fetched or created live and not stored separately. Your BugHerd account remains the single source of truth for all feedback and bug data.

Can the agent handle multiple BugHerd projects for different client websites?

Absolutely. The agent uses BugHerd's List Projects endpoint to identify the correct project based on the client or website URL being discussed. Tasks, comments, and attachments are always scoped to the right project. You can manage dozens of client sites through a single agent.

How is this different from BugHerd's built-in browser sidebar?

BugHerd's sidebar requires clients to use a browser extension and pin feedback on-page. Tars lets clients describe issues in natural language via chat, WhatsApp, or any channel. The agent handles the structured task creation behind the scenes. Clients who struggle with visual pinning tools get an easier alternative.

What happens if a client reports a bug for a project that does not exist yet?

The agent checks your active BugHerd projects first. If no matching project is found, it can either create a new project via the Create Project API or inform the client that their website has not been set up yet and route them to the appropriate contact. No feedback is lost.

How do I connect BugHerd to my Tars AI Agent?

In your Tars dashboard, navigate to Tools and select BugHerd. Enter your API token from BugHerd Settings > General Settings. Once connected, attach the tool to your AI Agent Gambit. The agent will automatically create tasks, add comments, and manage projects when clients provide feedback.
