What Ashby API permissions does Tars need?

Tars requires API key access with candidatesWrite permission for creating and updating candidates, and organizationWrite for managing hiring team assignments. Generate your API key in Ashby's Developer Settings under Admin.

Does Tars store candidate data from Ashby?

No. Tars queries Ashby's API in real-time during conversations. Candidate names, emails, and application data are fetched live and used only to respond to requests. All recruiting data remains in Ashby's secure environment.

Can the agent tag candidates based on conversation content?

Yes. Based on qualification responses, the agent can call Add Candidate Tag with appropriate tag IDs. This enables automatic categorization by skill level, experience, or interest areas captured during the conversation.

What happens if a candidate already exists in Ashby?
