How does the AI agent check SSL certificate status in StatusCake?

The agent uses StatusCake's List SSL Checks endpoint with optional filters for status (valid, warning, expired, tba, pending), domain name search, and tags. Results include certificate details, expiration dates, and current health status. You can also retrieve individual SSL check details by test_id for deeper inspection.

Can the agent filter uptime tests by environment or team?

Yes. The List Tests endpoint accepts a tags parameter with comma-separated values like 'production,api' or 'staging,frontend.' The agent uses these tags to scope results to specific environments, teams, or service categories. The uptime parameter can also include uptime percentage data in the response.

What authentication does Tars need for StatusCake?

You need your StatusCake API key, found in the User section of your StatusCake dashboard. Enter it in the Tars dashboard when adding the StatusCake tool. All API requests use the API key as a bearer token over HTTPS. No OAuth setup is required.

Does Tars store my StatusCake monitoring data?

No. Tars queries StatusCake's API in real time during conversations. Uptime percentages, SSL statuses, page speed scores, and contact group configurations are fetched on demand and used only for the current response. Tars does not cache monitoring data.

Can the agent update alert contact groups?

Yes. The Update Contact Group endpoint lets the agent modify group names, email addresses, SMS phone numbers, webhook URLs, integration IDs, and push notification settings. The agent handles the full contact group lifecycle: list, view details, update, and delete.

How is this different from checking the StatusCake dashboard?

The dashboard requires logging in and navigating between Uptime, SSL, and Page Speed tabs. With Tars, you ask 'Which SSL certs are expiring?' and get an immediate answer. The agent can cross-reference uptime and SSL data in a single response, which the dashboard cannot do natively.

Does the agent support StatusCake's heartbeat monitoring?

Yes. The agent can list all heartbeat checks with pagination. Heartbeat monitoring verifies that services, cron jobs, and background processes are sending expected pings to StatusCake. The agent surfaces which heartbeats are healthy and which have gone silent.

Can the agent show monitoring locations available for tests?

Yes. The Get All Locations endpoint returns every monitoring node in StatusCake's global network. The agent presents these locations with geographic details, helping you understand test coverage and select regions when configuring new monitoring checks.
