The agent can run standard keyword searches, custom filtered searches with language and region targeting, and streaming searches for real-time results. It supports parameters like freshness filters, safe search, deduplication, and result count limits, so you can control what data your agent retrieves for each conversation.

Can the agent extract content from any website, or just specific ones?

Openperplex can extract text, markdown, and screenshots from any publicly accessible URL. The agent fetches the page live, cleans the content, and returns structured text. Private or login-gated pages cannot be accessed, but any public webpage, article, or document is fair game.

How does the Query from URL feature differ from a regular search?

Regular search finds relevant pages across the web. Query from URL takes a specific URL you already know about and lets the agent ask natural-language questions against that page's content. Think of it as pointing the agent to a document and saying 'find the answer in here' rather than searching the open web.

Does Tars cache or store the web content Openperplex retrieves?

No. Openperplex results are fetched live during the conversation and used only to generate the response. Tars does not store copies of the retrieved web pages, search results, or extracted text. Each query hits the live web for the most current data.

How current are the search results the agent provides?

Openperplex searches the live web in real time. Results reflect what is currently indexed and available online. You can use the freshness filter parameter to prioritize recent content, ensuring the agent delivers up-to-the-minute information rather than outdated pages.

Can the agent search in languages other than English?

Yes. Openperplex supports 14 languages and 40+ search regions. You can configure the agent to search in a specific language and region using the lang and region parameters, making it effective for multinational businesses serving customers in their native languages.
