Globalping

Network diagnostics from 500+ global probes, right inside your AI agent

When customers report connectivity issues, your AI agent runs real-time network tests using Globalping's worldwide probe network. Ping, traceroute, and DNS lookups from any geography, delivered as instant diagnostic answers instead of support escalations.

Use Cases

Network troubleshooting, automated

See how infrastructure teams use AI agents to diagnose connectivity problems, validate CDN performance, and verify DNS propagation without leaving the conversation.

Regional Outage Diagnosis in Seconds

A customer in Brazil reports your website is unreachable. Your AI Agent triggers Globalping measurements from South American probes, runs ping and traceroute to your domain, and identifies that a transit provider in Sao Paulo is dropping packets at hop 7. The customer gets a detailed explanation with evidence, and your ops team receives the diagnostic data to escalate with the ISP.

DNS Propagation Verification Across Continents

After migrating DNS records, your team needs confirmation the changes have propagated globally. Your AI Agent runs DNS resolve measurements from probes in North America, Europe, and Asia, comparing results against expected values. Within minutes, you have a continent-by-continent propagation report without manually checking from different VPNs.

CDN Performance Benchmarking by Geography

A prospective customer asks how fast your service loads in Southeast Asia. Your AI Agent runs HTTP measurements from probes in Singapore, Jakarta, and Manila, returning response times and TTFB metrics. The prospect sees real performance data backing your latency claims, building confidence before they sign.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of network measurements can the AI agent run through Globalping?

The agent can create measurements for ping, traceroute, DNS resolve, MTR, and HTTP requests. Each measurement type targets a publicly reachable hostname or IP from probes you select by continent, country, city, ASN, or network provider. Results include per-probe latency, hop details, and response codes.

How does the agent choose which Globalping probes to use for a test?

You can configure the agent to select probes based on the customer's reported location, or let it use Globalping's fuzzy location matching. The agent can also list all active probes first and pick the most relevant ones based on continent, country, or ISP before running the measurement.

Does Tars store the network measurement results from Globalping?

No. Measurement results are fetched from Globalping's API in real time and presented to the customer during the conversation. Tars does not maintain a separate database of your diagnostic data. Globalping retains measurement results according to their own data retention policy.

What Globalping API key permissions does the integration need?

The integration uses a standard Globalping API key that provides authenticated access. This unlocks higher rate limits compared to anonymous usage, typically allowing more probes per measurement and more tests per hour. Generate your key from the Globalping dashboard.

Can the agent run measurements from a specific country or ISP?

Yes. The create measurement endpoint accepts location filters including continent, country, city, ASN number, and network name. If a customer in Germany reports issues, the agent can specifically target probes in Germany or even filter by Deutsche Telekom's ASN.

How is this different from running ping and traceroute from my own server?

Your server tests from one location. Globalping runs tests from hundreds of globally distributed probes simultaneously. When a customer says your site is slow, the agent can verify whether the issue is regional, ISP-specific, or global, providing perspective that single-point testing cannot.

What happens if a measurement takes a long time to complete?

The agent first creates the measurement and receives an ID, then polls for results. Globalping supports in-progress updates for streaming partial results. The agent will inform the customer that diagnostics are running and present findings as they become available, rather than making them wait silently.

Can the AI agent compare network performance across multiple regions at once?

Yes. A single measurement request can target probes in multiple locations simultaneously. The agent presents a side-by-side comparison of latency, packet loss, and routing paths from different geographies, making it easy to spot regional disparities in network performance.
