Tars has three plans. Every plan builds, publishes, and deploys agents, and Free caps how many of each you can keep. The other differences are volume, channels, and how long your records stay searchable. This page shows where each capability unlocks, so a plan gate never surprises you mid-task. Prices and checkout open from Upgrade to Premium on Settings > Billing.
Free

For evaluating Tars.

  • Build, publish, and deploy up to 2 agents
  • 5 knowledge bases, 5 toolkits, and one member
  • 50 conversations a month, then new chats pause
  • Web widget, agent link, and 30 days of activity history
Most teams
Premium

For running agents in production.

  • Conversation volume you choose
  • Team members and live-chat seats
  • WhatsApp, campaigns, and your own model key
  • Monthly or yearly billing
Enterprise

For compliance-heavy organizations.

  • Seats and volume set by your contract
  • SIEM streaming
  • 365 days of searchable audit records
  • Contract terms and invoice billing
The Free caps are enforced by blocking, not by a warning. When you reach one, the action fails and the message names the limit and asks you to upgrade. Premium removes the agent, knowledge base, and toolkit caps.

A tick means the capability is included. A cross means the plan does not offer it. On Free, the API Keys panel on Settings > Integrations shows an Upgrade plan link in place of the keys, so webhook triggers and the HTTP APIs stay locked. See API authentication. The AI Copilot count resets every month on both billing periods, even when you pay yearly. See Copilot.
Campaigns also need a funded campaign wallet, which is separate from your plan. See Fund your campaign wallet.

How conversations are counted

One counter covers AI and live-chat conversations together. A conversation is one 24-hour window per end user, so a handoff from an agent to a human inside that window counts once. Test and draft conversations are never billed, on any plan. When you need more volume, conversation packs add a separate balance that sits alongside your plan.

What happens to older records

After the searchable window in the table above, audit records move to a seven-year archive. Archived records stay out of the audit log table, and exports can still include them. See Data retention for the full rules.
